Teenage Boy Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 6-Year-Old Girl in Mumbai

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old boy was apprehended for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in Vakola, Western Mumbai, according to a police official. The incident occurred on Wednesday while the girl was on her way to the toilet, as stated by the Vakola police station official.
“The accused allegedly inserted his finger into her private parts. Once the girl informed her parents about the ordeal, a police case was registered under the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for rape and other offenses,” the official revealed.
Following the complaint, the police promptly arrested the accused and he has been remanded in police custody for a period of four days, as stated by the official. The investigation is ongoing.
