October 31, 2023 – In a surprising revelation, Ankita Lokhande, a current contestant on Bigg Boss 17, has opened up about her breakup with the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The couple, who fell in love on the sets of the popular show Pavitra Rishta, had been in a relationship for about seven years before parting ways in 2016.
During a candid conversation with co-contestant Munawar Faruqui, Ankita shared her experience with Sushant and shed light on their breakup. She mentioned that Sushant suddenly disappeared and was being influenced by others due to his success. Ankita further revealed that she never received an explanation from him regarding their separation.
Following their breakup, it took Ankita two and a half years to move on. She admitted that while Sushant had moved on quickly, she found it challenging to imagine herself dating someone else for a long time. Their on-screen chemistry as Archana and Manav in Pavitra Rishta was widely loved by fans. Sushant left the show in 2011 to focus on his Bollywood career.
The untimely demise of Sushant in June 2020 shocked the industry and his fans. At the time of his death, he was in a relationship with actress Rhea Chakraborty. Ankita, who is now happily married to Vicky Jain, often mentions Sushant in her interviews. She acknowledged that it was not easy for her to talk about her past with her ex-boyfriend on television, especially for Vicky. However, she appreciates the support she received from his family during those trying times.
