Elderly Man Succumbs to Acid Attack Following Accusations of Black Magic Practicing

Jalna, Maharashtra: In a shocking incident, an 85-year-old man identified as Shrirang Shejul lost his life due to severe burn injuries sustained in an acid attack in a village in Jalna district. The attack occurred on the night of September 1 when the elderly man was sleeping on the veranda of his house. His family woke up to his cries and discovered him drenched in chemicals with severe burns all over his body.

According to the police, the attack was motivated by accusations of black magic made against Shrirang by two individuals, Nandu Shejul and Bhaskar Sable, both local residents. While Nandu has been apprehended, Sable is still at large. During the investigation, the police found a stock of acid at Nandu’s residence. A murder case has been registered against the suspects.

Shrirang fought for his life for over two weeks but eventually succumbed to his injuries on September 18. He was initially taken to Jafrabad rural hospital and later transferred to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar for further treatment, but unfortunately, he could not survive.

The son of the deceased filed a complaint with the police, detailing the gruesome attack. The police sub-inspector revealed that three months prior to the incident, Nandu and Sable had accused Shrirang of practicing black magic against them. They had confronted him and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not stop.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case. Meanwhile, this tragic incident highlights the urgent need for measures to stop such acts of violence and protect vulnerable individuals in society.
