Government employee murdered by coworker over financial dispute, body buried near residence in Delhi’s RK Puram

24-Year-Old Government Employee Arrested for Allegedly Killing Colleague in Delhi’s RK Puram Area

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old government employee has been arrested for allegedly killing his colleague and burying his body in a vacant house in southwest Delhi’s RK Puram area. The accused, identified as Anish, works at Survey of India and is a resident of RK Puram Sector-2.

According to the police, the victim, Mahesh, had loaned Anish Rs 9 lakh. The gruesome murder took place when Mahesh demanded his money back and berated Anish for spending money on his girlfriend.

The case came to light when Mahesh’s brother, Anesh, reported his brother missing at the RK Puram Police Station on August 29. Anesh informed the police that Mahesh had left the house on August 28 to meet his colleague Anish at RK Puram Sector 2 but never returned.

During the investigation, Mahesh’s last location was traced to Faridabad in Haryana. However, there was no evidence of his presence there. Anish became a suspect as he did not inform the police about his meeting with Mahesh, as he had told Mahesh’s family. Upon questioning, Anish confessed to killing Mahesh.

Anish claimed that Mahesh had been harassing him for money and insulting him, which led him to commit the crime. He also told Mahesh’s wife that Mahesh had come and left, leaving his car behind. The accused buried Mahesh’s body near his own house, where sewer work was underway.

Police have recovered Mahesh’s body and seized Rs 5 lakh in cash, two vehicles used in the crime, and the weapon used to commit the murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are checking the claims made by the accused, including his whereabouts in Faridabad and his hometown in Sonipat, Haryana. They are also looking into whether the case is linked to a job scam.
