Microsoft has unveiled new updates to its generative AI capabilities at its annual Inspire event for resellers. The company announced that its AI assistant, Copilot, will be available to customers at a price of $30 per user per month for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium customers. Copilot is designed to automate tasks and create content across various Microsoft apps, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
While Microsoft has not provided a specific timeline for the availability of Copilot, it has revealed that 600 global enterprise customers are already part of its early access program. This pricing model will be implemented once Copilot becomes broadly available.
In addition to Copilot, Microsoft also announced the expansion of Bing Chat with the introduction of Bing Chat Enterprise. This work-specific version of the AI-powered chat feature allows users to receive answers from GPT-4, the OpenAI Large Language Model that Microsoft has heavily invested in. Bing Chat Enterprise is designed to provide complete, verifiable answers with citations, along with visual answers including graphs, charts, and images.
To ensure data protection, Bing Chat Enterprise does not save any chat data or use it to train the underlying LLM model. Microsoft has also emphasized that no one, including the company itself, has access to view the data used to power the tool. Bing Chat Enterprise is rolling out in preview and is currently included at no additional cost for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium customers.
Furthermore, Bing Chat will soon enable users to leverage OpenAI’s GPT-4 model for Visual Search. This feature allows users to upload pictures and search for similar content or obtain more information about the context of an image. Visual Search in Bing Chat has already been introduced on desktop and the Bing mobile app, with plans to extend it to Bing Chat Enterprise in the future.
In addition to these updates, Microsoft has introduced Sales Copilot, a new role-based AI assistant available in Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365. Designed specifically for sellers, Sales Copilot can be accessed through various tools including Outlook, Teams, and Dynamics 365 Sales. It offers features such as contextual email creation based on Dynamics 365 Sales data, providing summaries before sales meetings, and offering real-time tips during Teams meetings.
Sales Copilot is available as a stand-alone subscription and is also included in customers’ existing Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise and Premium licenses at no extra cost. Microsoft has also integrated customer data and customer journey orchestration capabilities into Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, allowing enterprises to streamline their marketing efforts.
These new features will be available for preview next month and will be generally available in September as part of the 365 Customer Insights subscription.
